Aesop’s Fables

Aesop was a Greek story teller who lived in the 6th century BC. He is said to have written a number of “fables”. Fables are stories featuring animals (and sometimes objects) that can speak and that generally exhibit human characteristics. A fable has a “moral”, i.e. a lesson that can be derived from what happens in the story.

Although no writings of Aesop have been conserved, a large number of fables have been attributed to him over the centuries and they are now known as “Aesop’s fables”. We offer you here the complete text of over 300 of Aesop’s fables.

To make it easier to bring these stories to life using puppets, the text of each fable is accompanied by the list of characters that you can represent using Animaplates projects.
