About Us

Animaplates were created by Joelle Meijer. As an educator with a passion for the arts, and an artist with a passion for education, Joelle Meijer specializes in making visual art projects accessible to children.

She may not be the first artist to use paper plates as a canvas, but she has refined the technique to a point where you could almost say that she has invented a new art form.

Her ideas inspire children to be creative and while they are having fun building and painting their projects, they learn to observe nature and to respect the environment.
