Hi ,
The weekend of June 20-21 will be quite special this year, offering something for everyone. For starters, summer begins officially on Saturday June 20. Then, on Sunday 21, it's Father's Day.
Sunday June 21 is also Make Music Day but, depending on where you live, it will be a bit different than other years because of public health concerns. In many areas, there are no events in the streets, only virtual concerts. In Miami you can contribute your part to an online mix that will be published on the 21st. In the Dallas area there are live concerts. Check out the full list of U.S. events here.
But even if there are no large public events in your area, you can celebrate Make Music Day at home! If you don't have any instruments, make them yourself, like for instance this monkey drum made from an empty Camembert cheese box.
You can find more easy-to-make musical instruments on the Animaplates website.
Here is a Father's Day gift that kids can make themselves. This picture frame is made with popsicle sticks and kids can decorate it with Dad's favourite activities.
If they then add a picture of themselves, this frame will become a treasured gift that will become even more precious as years go by.
Because you are a Pro
Among the new printables that we published recently, there are several that relate to music: a connect-the-dots picture of a cello, a sudoku 6x6 with musical instruments, and a colouring page with a triangle.
There are also printables with animals, for example: a spot-the-differences game with pigs, a zentangle colouring page with a dragonfly, and a maze with a beehive.
All printables are yours with a Pro membership. In addition, a Pro membership gives you 40 credits that you can spend any way you want on the website.
