Hi %recipient.firstname%,

Last year, I created a trophy that kids can make as a gift for Father's Day, to tell their dad that he is the best dad in the world.

This year, I had an idea to make that trophy even better by adding handles.

I updated the document for the project and it now includes the instructions and the pattern for the handles.

If you haven't seen the original video yet, here it is:

When is Father's Day?

In the catholic tradition, fatherhood is celebrated on Saint-Joseph's day, March 19. In this context, Joseph is considered the father of Jesus. This celebration dates back to the middle ages.

Outside of the religious context, the modern version of Father's Day has its origin in the United States at the beginning of the 20th century. The chosen date was the third Sunday in June. Father's Day quickly became commercialized, but it didn't become an official holiday until 1972, under President Nixon.

Many other countries, including Canada, also adopted the third Sunday in June as the date for Father's Day, but there are exceptions. For example, in Australia and New Zealand it is celebrated on the first Sunday in September, whereas in Germany it coincides with Ascension Day (usually in May).
