Today, I start a new blog section where I will post reviews of games and books for children. I will focus on "physical" games and "paper" books because I think they add a dimension to the learning process that computers and tablets can never match.

The first game I have reviewed is a puzzle game for preschoolers: "Day & Night" by SmartGames. I recently discovered the SmartGames collection and I am very impressed by their sturdiness and by the fun challenges they offer children.

September 19 is International Talk Like a Pirate Day. This American tradition started as a joke, but it is still quite alive, 23 years later.

If you want to take part in this fun parody, here are some activities that you can do while talking like a pirate. (Or you can take this opportunity to get you Halloween costume ready early).
