It will soon be Make Music Day, a tradition started 40 years ago! Here is a project that can help introduce kids to rhythm and musical notation.
The document contains a staff on which notes can be printed using a wine cork. I also show how to print half and whole notes.
To practice rhythms, here is a drum made from a Camembert cheese box. It really makes music!
If you don't have a Camembert box, you can also make musical instruments from paper plates. For example this tambourine made with two plates and a few jingle bells.
