Easter Bonnet
Why make a hat for Easter? There is a long-standing tradition of wearing new clothes at Easter because springtime marks the renewal of nature.
Since the 1870s, an “Easter Parade” gives New Yorkers the opportunity to show off their new clothes and their hats especially chosen or made for the occasion. This parade was immortalized by the movie Easter Parade with Fred Astaire and Judy Garland, and it still takes place on Fifth Avenue.
