Here is how to make a card that says “I love you” from a child. The little ones will need your help, but they will be proud of the result since their own hands are represented on the card.

To start, take two sheets of construction paper in contrasting colours like pink and red, for example.

Trace the outline of a hand of a child on one of the sheets.

Cut through both layers of construction paper to get the two hands of different colours. Invert one of the hands so that the thumbs are together.

Fold a piece of white construction paper in half to form a card. Weave the fingers together to form a heart shape and glue the paper hands on the card of white construction paper.

Add your message, for Valentine’s Day or any other occasion.
